What if… new communities for indie musicians start popping up that look a lot like ours?
Lately, we’ve noticed something interesting: more and more platforms and communities are being created with a similar mission to ours—supporting upcoming and indie musicians. Some even seem inspired by what we’re doing here.
So what should we do about it? Compete? Collaborate? Ignore?
Here’s a thought: maybe it’s not a bad thing. Maybe it means that what we’re doing is working—that people see the value in giving lesser-known artists a voice and a space to shine. But it also raises an important question:
How do we stay true to our identity while growing in a space that’s getting more crowded?
Let’s open the floor:
Should we reach out and connect with these other communities?
What makes our community special, and how can we protect that?
Do we need to level up what we’re offering to stay ahead—or do we stay focused on our mission and let the rest follow?
