Here is how to get the most out of your experience:
- How to Share Your Music
Start a Discussion: Click the “Start a Discussion” button or at the top the chat bubble and press post music at mobiel music icon
Pick a Tag: Select the category that fits your post (e.g., Feedback, Promo, Production). This helps the right people find your work.
Be Descriptive: Don’t just drop a link. Tell us about the track, what you struggled with, or what kind of feedback you are looking for. A little context goes a long way.
- How to Connect (Tagging & Following)
Tagging: Want to get someone’s attention? Type @ followed by their username (e.g., @Tank_Marwin). They will get a notification, and it’s the best way to start a conversation.
Following: See a user or a discussion you like? Click the “Follow” button (often a star or bell icon). You’ll get notified of new activity, so you never miss a beat.
Private Messages (DM): Want to chat privately? Click on a user’s profile icon. If they have messaging enabled, you will see a “Message” or “Send Message” button. Use this for collabs or personal questions.
- Sharing Without Algorithms (The Chatsong Philosophy)
On social media, you are fighting a machine. Here, you are building relationships. Here is how to grow your reach without “hacking” an algorithm:
Give to Get: The best way to get eyes on your music is to show interest in others. Spend 5 minutes listening to a fellow member’s track and leave a comment. They will notice you, and they will be much more likely to check out your music in return.
The Interactive Chart: Don’t just post a link and vanish. Submit your music to our Interactive Top 40. When you share your music elsewhere, don’t just link to the track—link to the chart and say: “I’m competing for a spot on the Chatsong Top 40, go vote for my track!”
Direct Engagement: Instead of hoping a “feed” shows your post, invite people directly. Send a DM or tag them in a discussion: “Hey @username, I just uploaded a new track and would love your take on the mix.”
